About the role
Impulse Space is looking for an RF Systems Engineer to own radio communications, ranging, and positioning system architecture, define the future radio roadmap, and align teams on requirements. The role focuses on system-level RF design, link budgeting, and compliance for high-reliability aerospace applications.
What you’ll do
Own top-level architecture for radio communications, ranging, and positioning systems
Define the roadmap for future radio programs
Align teams on system requirements and development
Develop RF link budgets including antenna patterns, atmospheric modeling, and link availability
Design for compliance with spectral emissions masks and regulatory requirements
What you’ll need
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field
2+ years professional experience with direct ownership of RF communication components or systems
Experience developing RF link budgets including antenna patterns, atmospheric modeling, and link availability
Proficiency with RF lab equipment such as spectrum analyzers and VNAs
Familiarity with EM concepts of RF transmitters, receivers, antennas, and transmission lines
Must be a U.S. Person or eligible to obtain an export license (ITAR/EAR)
