About the role
JPMorganChase is looking for a Senior Lead Software Engineer to lead the design, development, and operational stability of data-intensive software and production AI systems, with a focus on LLM-based applications and agentic systems. The role involves mentoring engineers, advancing secure engineering practices, and applying expertise in cloud-native, big data, and AI technologies in an onsite Houston position.
What you’ll do
Lead design, development, deployment, and operational stability of data-intensive software and production AI systems
Advance secure engineering practices within the organization
Mentor and coach engineers on engineering excellence and compliant AI usage
Set expectations for validating AI-assisted development outputs for correctness, performance, and security
Drive adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools
Ensure application resiliency, security, and adherence to agile methodologies
What you’ll need
5+ years applied experience with formal training or certification in software engineering
Hands-on experience building and shipping LLM-based applications and agentic systems in production
Advanced proficiency in Python and/or Java
Deep experience with large-scale data processing, microservices, API design, and event streaming (Kafka)
Working knowledge of relational/NoSQL databases, vector stores, and data lake architectures
Practical cloud-native engineering experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
