Walmart is seeking a Staff Full Stack Java Engineer in Sunnyvale to design and deploy scalable platform capabilities using cloud-native architecture, lead full-stack development across backend and frontend technologies, and mentor engineering peers.
What you’ll do
Design, develop, and deploy scalable platform capabilities including infrastructure, tooling, and AI/ML frameworks
Own the software lifecycle including coding, testing, CI/CD deployment, and maintenance
Apply cloud-native architecture principles to ensure scalable and resilient systems
Collaborate across teams to deliver solutions and improve engineering practices
Conduct thorough design reviews and apply debugging and remedial actions to enhance code quality
Mentor peers and drive engineering excellence
What you’ll need
10+ years of proven expertise in cloud-native architecture, microservices, containers, and automation
Strong proficiency in software design patterns, API design, and platform development
Experience leading full software development lifecycle activities including coding, testing, CI/CD deployment, and maintenance
Backend: Java, Spring Boot, Microservices; Frontend: React.js/Angular, JavaScript, TypeScript
Option 1: Bachelor's degree in CS/related area plus 4 years' experience; Option 2: 6 years' experience; or Master's plus 2 years' experience
Knowledge of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards and assistive technologies
