About the role
Inovonics is seeking a Director of Software Engineering to lead its software organization, drive delivery and engineering standards, and transition the team to AI-native development practices. The role partners with firmware, hardware, QA, and product teams to build reliable wireless life-safety and security technology.
What you’ll do

Ensure user-facing software delivery with sound UI/UX judgment
Raise team performance while maintaining trust and organizational connection
What you’ll need
10+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years leading teams of 10+ engineers with direct ownership of delivery and outcomes
Demonstrated track record as a coach and mentor, with engineers growing under your leadership
Proven success leading a software team through a disruptive change such as DevOps/CI-CD, agile-at-scale, platform engineering, cloud re-platforming, or early AI-assisted development
Hands-on experience architecting and delivering cloud software on AWS, Azure, or GCP with modern DevOps/CI-CD practices
Experience building software for connected-hardware, IoT, or device-to-cloud products integrating with embedded or wireless devices
Strong communication and partnership skills across engineering, product, and business, plus experience in regulated or safety-critical product domains
