About the role

What you’ll do

• Build and operate reliable event-driven backend systems connecting AI agents to the claims platform
• Own product areas end to end
• Design workflows and data models
• Implement tracing and auditing
• Ensure production reliability
• Set engineering practices

What you’ll need

• 6+ years professional software engineering experience including an event-driven system you designed, shipped, and ran in production
• Python and TypeScript at team-convention level, plus a systems language such as Rust, Go, Java, or C#
• Strong distributed-systems fundamentals: concurrency, consistency, ordering, and failure modes
• Event-driven systems on Kafka, Azure Event Hubs, or Service Bus handling duplicate, late, and failed events
• Data modeling across relational, document, and graph databases such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Neo4j
• Azure/AWS with CI/CD and infrastructure as code, plus durable workflow engines like Temporal; experience using and constraining agentic coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot
