About the role
Sierra Studio is hiring a Founding Engineer for an unnamed client building software for consumer goods manufacturers. This remote, US-based role involves turning a working v1 into production-grade software while owning the technical foundation and shaping the future engineering team.
What you’ll do
Own the product's technical foundation
Turn a working v1 into production-grade software
Shape product development and prioritization decisions
Build and shape the future engineering team
Make external system integrations reliable
Treat testing, monitoring, and clean deploys as part of shipping
What you’ll need
5+ years building production software with real ownership across front end and back end
Fluent in Python and TypeScript with experience in FastAPI and React or Next.js
Deep PostgreSQL knowledge including schema design, query tuning, and migrations
Experience integrating external systems with retries, idempotency, and sync conflicts
Shipped a product from 0 to 1, ideally as an early engineer at a startup
Familiarity with ERP, supply chain, manufacturing, or B2B operations software; WebSockets and AI/LLM features are a plus
