About the role
Slalom seeks a Senior Principal AI Engineer to lead enterprise AI system design and delivery, setting secure architecture and responsible AI adoption while guiding clients through complex technical and business decisions.
What you’ll do
Design and deliver production-grade AI systems for enterprise clients
Set technical direction and secure architecture for AI platforms
Lead complex client engagements and delivery teams
Advance responsible AI adoption
What you’ll need
9+ years implementing ML/AI solutions in production, including classical ML, deep learning, generative AI, or agentic AI
5+ years in consulting or IT services leading client-facing technical engagements
Deep expertise in modern GenAI patterns including RAG, embeddings, vector/hybrid search, re-ranking, knowledge graphs, tool/function calling, and multimodal inputs
Experience defining agentic AI architecture patterns including multi-agent workflows, orchestration, memory, and human approval gates
Proficiency with AI engineering frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, Semantic Kernel, Haystack, CrewAI, and Hugging Face, plus strong Python skills
Experience with cloud AI/ML platforms, enterprise data ecosystems, and MLOps/LLMOps practices
