About the role
NPR seeks a Senior IT Systems Engineer to lead the design, deployment, and administration of its virtualized data center infrastructure with a focus on availability, scalability, performance, security, and automation. The role spans VMware, Cisco UCS, storage, cloud, Microsoft ecosystems, and cross-functional project leadership.
What you’ll do
Lead design, deployment, administration, and optimization of virtualized data center infrastructure
Support enterprise systems availability, scalability, performance, and security
Advance infrastructure modernization and automation
Manage complex VMware vSphere environments and Cisco UCS hardware deployment
Lead infrastructure upgrades and migrations and translate technical challenges to teams and leadership
Create detailed systems documentation and flow charts
What you’ll need
5+ years of dedicated Systems or Infrastructure Engineer experience in enterprise data centers
Hands-on VMware vSphere (clustering, DRS, HA, vMotion) and Cisco UCS Manager experience
Experience with enterprise SAN/NAS storage arrays and storage networking protocols
2+ years planning, designing, and maintaining AWS or Azure cloud infrastructure
Working knowledge of Microsoft ecosystem including Windows Server, Active Directory, Azure AD, Office 365, IIS, SQL, DFS, DHCP, and DNS
Strong networking, security, project management, communication, and troubleshooting skills; Bachelor's degree or equivalent; active VMware, Cisco, Microsoft, or AWS/Azure certifications
