About the role
Morgan Stanley's E*TRADE division is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer/SRE to design, build, and operate secure, scalable cloud platforms across AWS, Azure, and GCP. The role applies SRE principles and infrastructure-as-code to improve availability and operational excellence in a multi-cloud environment.
What you’ll do
Design, build, and operate secure, scalable cloud platforms across AWS, Azure, and GCP
Configure, deploy, and maintain virtual machines and containerized applications
Apply SRE principles to improve availability, performance, and operational excellence
Lead technical escalations and coordinate resolution across teams
Implement SRE practices such as SLIs/SLOs, alerting, incident response, and postmortems
Automate and reduce toil to improve system reliability
What you’ll need
10+ years in cloud engineering, platform engineering, DevOps, or SRE roles with production ownership
Hands-on AWS and Azure experience plus practical GCP exposure
Expert-level Terraform (modules, state, CI integration, scalable patterns)
Strong Kubernetes operations (EKS/AKS/GKE) including upgrades and workload reliability
Experience with SRE practices: SLIs/SLOs, alerting, incident response, postmortems, automation
Strong Linux, Bash/Python scripting, and security fundamentals (IAM/RBAC, encryption, secrets)
