About the role
Kentro is hiring a Software Engineer IV to lead engineering implementation for the FAA's ATLAS modernization program, focusing on application and database modernization, cloud architecture, secure delivery, and DevSecOps. This remote, full-time role requires expert-level technical leadership and deep experience modernizing complex legacy systems.
What you’ll do
Lead engineering implementation for application and database modernization
Own cloud architecture and secure delivery on the ATLAS program
Define technical standards adopted by cross-functional teams
Drive DevSecOps practices across CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and automated testing
Modernize legacy applications and data stores, including monolith decomposition and re-platforming
Brief technical strategy to non-technical executive and government audiences
What you’ll need
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline
8–10 years of progressive software engineering experience with technical leadership on large, complex systems
Expert-level proficiency in one or more major development stacks, server-side or front-end
Deep experience modernizing legacy applications and databases, including monolith decomposition and data migration
Hands-on cloud architecture and engineering experience in AWS, Azure, or GCP with DevSecOps practices
