About the role
Foresight is hiring an Applied AI Engineer to architect, train, deploy, and monitor machine learning models for risk prediction and mitigation on complex capital projects. The role focuses on bringing models into production features, including VLM/LLM-based capabilities, agentic workflows, and RAG systems.
What you’ll do
Architect, train, deploy, and monitor ML models for project risk prediction, planning, and progress tracking
Bring models into production features
Build and ship VLM/LLM-based features to production
Ship agentic workflows, RAG systems, and high-volume data pipelines
Manage async work: queues, background jobs, retries, and failure handling
Debug production issues from logs, metrics, and traces
What you’ll need
3+ years building and shipping ML models in production with real backend ownership
1+ years building and shipping VLM/LLM-based features to production
Strong Python backend skills (FastAPI, Django or similar)
Solid relational data modeling in Postgres (schema design, indexes, query plans, migrations, ORM like SQLAlchemy)
Hands-on AWS experience (S3, RDS, managed queues, containers or serverless)
Experience with workflow orchestration for multi-step jobs (Temporal, Step Functions, Airflow or similar)
