About the role
Aquila Technology is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to support a defense research organization by developing FPGA firmware for wireless communications systems. The role covers HDL design, integration, testing, verification, and system-level debugging, and requires U.S. citizenship and an active Secret clearance.
What you’ll do
Develop digital signal processor FPGA firmware for wireless communications systems
Perform embedded HDL design, integration, testing, verification, and system-level debugging
Develop implementation architectures from requirements documents or high-level specifications
Use and maintain legacy IP
Troubleshoot designs operating within an integrated system
Work with teams on multi-person chip developments
What you’ll need
Must be a U.S. citizen with an active Secret clearance
15 years of experience with complex high-speed HDL-based implementations of algorithms
Proficiency in VHDL, Verilog, and all aspects of FPGA design and verification
In-depth knowledge of Xilinx FPGAs, including the Virtex family, and tools such as ISE, Synplicity, and ModelSim
Proven experience with embedded systems, real-time operating systems, and source/revision control tools
