About the role
Nanit is looking for a founding backend engineer for its Growth team to build backend services and experimentation infrastructure supporting the customer funnel. The role involves working independently, partnering with mobile engineers and product managers, and helping establish engineering practices and on-call coverage for the US team.
What you’ll do
Build backend services and experimentation infrastructure for the Growth team
Own the customer funnel from consideration through purchase, subscription, engagement, and referrals
Partner with mobile engineers and product managers
Help establish engineering practices and on-call coverage for the US team
Independently take concepts from research to production
Deliver backend projects successfully
What you’ll need
5+ years of backend software development with strong coding and design skills
Experience with critical production systems including load balancing, caching, and distributed systems
Proficiency designing and maintaining APIs for mobile clients (REST, gRPC, WebSocket)
Hands-on experience with A/B testing infrastructure, feature flags, and event instrumentation
Experience with consumer subscription products including billing, plan tiering, and in-app purchases
Strong asynchronous communication and comfort with ambiguity
