About the role
Backend Engineer role on the AI Platform team, responsible for building and operating reliable backend services and distributed systems that support both internal and customer-facing products, including AI-enabled capabilities for mortgage servicing.
What you’ll do
Build, operate, and improve reliable backend services and distributed systems
Support internal and customer-facing products, operational workflows, and integrations
Design and maintain APIs and service boundaries
Build AI-powered capabilities on top of LLMs
Deploy and operate backend services on cloud platforms
Improve system reliability, cost efficiency, and operational scalability
What you’ll need
3-5+ years of experience building and operating production-grade backend systems
Strong software engineering fundamentals including data structures, algorithms, system design, and testing
Experience with modern backend languages such as Python, Go, Java, or TypeScript
Experience with API design, event-driven architectures, and relational or non-relational data stores
Experience deploying and operating services on AWS, GCP, or Azure
Experience building LLM-powered applications and working with CI/CD, observability, and infrastructure-as-code
