About the role
SmartestEnergy is hiring an ERCOT Power & Gas Trader to develop and execute trading strategies in the ERCOT region, supporting profitability through customer hedging and proprietary trading while managing risk within company limits.
What you’ll do
Create, manage, and execute power and gas trading strategies
Support business profitability through customer hedging
Engage in proprietary trading
Manage risk within company limits
Conduct bilateral transactions in ERCOT
Collaborate with Originators and Retail Sales Teams to understand customer needs
What you’ll need
Minimum of 3-5 years in U.S. energy or commodity markets as a Trader
Thorough knowledge of ERCOT power market fundamentals
Fluent in Technical Analysis
Deep understanding of commodity market participants
Demonstrated ability to understand needs of Originators and Retail Sales Teams
Highly numerate and quick thinking
