About the role
Toloka is hiring a Forward Deployed AI Engineer to partner with clients on complex AI data challenges, designing and building scalable data generation, labeling, and evaluation pipelines while owning delivery and commercial outcomes. The role requires strong LLM expertise, hands-on solution engineering, and the ability to lead conversations with senior technical stakeholders.
What you’ll do
Design and build data-generation, labeling, and evaluation pipelines
Turn model goals into practical, scalable data solutions
Own delivery and commercial outcomes
Help establish engineering practices
Mentor colleagues
Lead conversations with CTOs, VPs, and senior technical stakeholders
What you’ll need
8+ years delivering complex AI, ML, or data projects end to end
Strong understanding of modern LLM training and evaluation (SFT, RLHF/RLAIF, DPO/PPO, reward modeling, LoRA/PEFT)
Hands-on solution engineering with Python, NumPy, Pandas, APIs, and LLM prototyping
Solid software engineering foundations including version control, testing, and MVP thinking
Exceptional discovery and problem framing skills
Experience influencing technical direction and leading cross-functional initiatives
