About the role
Andromeda Surgical is hiring a hands-on Hardware Lead Engineer in South San Francisco to lead hardware design, prototyping, testing, integration, and deployment of autonomous surgical robots, while driving technical direction across hardware, software, and cross-functional teams.
What you’ll do
Lead hands-on hardware design, prototyping, testing, integration, and deployment across robotic subsystems
Drive technical direction and make engineering tradeoffs across hardware and software boundaries
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver complete system behavior
Take products from prototype through deployment and production
Operate independently in environments with incomplete information
Troubleshoot and solve complex hardware and system issues
What you’ll need
Strong experience developing complex hardware systems
Experience working across multiple engineering disciplines
Hands-on prototyping and debugging experience with electronics, sensors, actuators, and embedded systems
Robotics experience and familiarity with motors, actuators, and motion systems
Experience taking products from prototype to production
Medical device experience with QMS and regulated product development processes
