About the role
CGI is seeking an experienced Outpatient Coding Auditor to join its Healthcare Compliance Audit Team, where the role involves conducting medical record audits across outpatient settings, evaluating coding and reimbursement compliance, and documenting findings to identify potential improper payments.
What you’ll do
Conduct medical record audits across outpatient healthcare settings
Evaluate coding and reimbursement compliance
Document findings to identify potential improper payments
Develop clear, accurate, and well-reasoned audit narratives
What you’ll need
Current professional coding certification through AHIMA or AAPC, such as RHIT, RHIA, CCS-P, CPC, or COC
Minimum of five years of outpatient surgical coding experience in a facility and/or professional healthcare setting
Extensive knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding guidelines, modifiers, and documentation requirements
Working knowledge of CMS OPPS, APCs, NCCI edits, and OCE edits
Experience using coding encoders, electronic medical records, and remote medical record review systems
Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills
