About the role
Planet is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to build and operate full-stack applications for Defense & Intelligence customers, developing features, APIs, and services for near-real-time monitoring and analytics while guiding engineering practices and collaborating with product managers and designers.
What you’ll do
Develop features, APIs, and services for near-real-time monitoring and analytics
Guide engineering practices
Collaborate with product managers and designers
Lead feature implementation from discovery through deployment and production support
Improve team capabilities through code reviews and knowledge sharing
Mentor teammates on engineering best practices
What you’ll need
10+ years of experience building and operating web applications end to end
Proficiency with React, TypeScript, and component-based frontend architecture
Proficiency with a server-side language such as Python or Go
Experience designing, building, and operating backend services and REST APIs in production
Working knowledge of relational databases, data modeling, and query performance
Professional English proficiency and ability to access export-controlled information without additional licensing
