About the role
Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory is hiring an HPC Operations Engineer to develop and maintain tools for monitoring, alerting, and automating high-performance computing systems, while collaborating with system administrators and facilities engineers.
What you’ll do
Develop, deploy, and maintain tools and processes for HPC system availability and performance
Implement monitoring, alerting, and diagnostics for high-performance systems
Automate operational tasks to improve efficiency
Collaborate with system administrators, software developers, and facilities engineers
Resolve moderately complex system, network, and facility issues
What you’ll need
Ability to secure and maintain a U.S. DOE Q-level security clearance (requires U.S. citizenship)
Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field or equivalent experience
Experience with Linux/UNIX systems and enterprise data storage
Knowledge of programming and scripting languages such as C/C++, Python, or bash
Experience with version control and configuration management systems such as Git, Ansible, or CFEngine
Knowledge of system monitoring, alerting, and incident management practices
