About the role
Staff Network Architect responsible for owning and operating network architecture across the Austin datacenter, AWS, and production and corporate environments. The role designs secure, scalable hybrid networks, automates network operations, and sets architecture standards while partnering with engineering and security teams.
What you’ll do
Own and operate network architecture across Austin datacenter, AWS, and production/corporate environments
Design secure, scalable hybrid networks and set architecture standards
Automate network operations and implement infrastructure-as-code
Engineer CIDR block strategies and segmentation to resolve overlapping address challenges
Architect high-availability hybrid paths connecting enterprise datacenters to cloud providers
Design WAN transit architectures using Direct Connect, ExpressRoute, SD-WAN, and managed MPLS
What you’ll need
15+ years in network engineering, datacenter networking, cloud networking, or infrastructure architecture
Hands-on AWS network architecture: VPC, Transit Gateway, VPC peering, security groups and NACLs, Direct Connect, site-to-site VPN, and hybrid connectivity to physical datacenters
Deep knowledge of TCP/IP, Layer 2/3, VLANs, VRFs, BGP, OSPF, LACP, and high-availability design with enterprise switching and routing
Network automation and infrastructure-as-code experience with Python, Ansible, Terraform, CloudFormation, or comparable tools
Proven record of owning network architecture end to end and leading major network transformations
Ability to influence and align engineering teams and communicate risks to senior leadership; Austin area candidates preferred
