About the role
SpaceX is hiring a Kubernetes Platform Infrastructure Engineer to design, operate, and scale the infrastructure behind the Starlink satellite constellation. The role combines SRE/DevOps work on Kubernetes and Linux systems with automation, build tooling, and performance optimization.
What you’ll do
Design, operate, and scale infrastructure for the Starlink satellite constellation
Manage Kubernetes clusters and platform infrastructure
Collaborate with software engineers to improve system performance
Automate server management using infrastructure tools like Terraform and Ansible
Optimize performance bottlenecks and improve distributed system efficiency
Support build, deployment, and continuous monitoring pipelines
What you’ll need
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems/IT, or engineering discipline, or equivalent experience
1+ years of professional SRE or DevOps experience, or 3+ years in lieu of a degree
Experience with Linux operating systems, boot process, and system configuration
Experience with Terraform, Ansible, or other infrastructure tools for managing servers at scale
Experience managing Kubernetes clusters and containerization (OCI containers, Kubernetes)
Development experience in Python, Bash, C++, or Go, with strong TCP/IP networking knowledge
