About the role
Tilt is hiring a Staff Machine Learning Engineer to own the ML platform between data science and infrastructure, including the managed feature store and training and deployment platforms. The role focuses on building self-service tooling so data scientists can deploy and operate models independently at scale.
What you’ll do
Own the managed feature store
Build training and deployment platforms for ML models
Enable data scientists to work independently
Remove engineers from the deployment loop with self-service tooling
Collaborate with backend engineers to get deployments live
Drive projects from requirements to completion
What you’ll need
Deep hands-on experience as a platform or software engineer working in ML
Experience with feature stores and model deployment platforms such as Databricks Feature Store, Feast, or Tecton
Strong CI/CD for ML with GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or Azure Pipelines
Infrastructure as code experience with Terraform
Cloud expertise in AWS or Azure for ML deployment plus Kubernetes and workflow orchestration
Strong command of batch and real-time serving, autoscaling, and latency and cost trade-offs
