About the role
ApTask is looking for a Senior Staff Engineer to lead the modernization of legacy trading systems into an event-driven, cloud-native architecture. The role focuses on developing and upgrading trading and post-trade systems while ensuring performance, data integrity, and production stability.
What you’ll do
Modernize legacy trading systems into event-driven, cloud-native architecture.
Develop and upgrade trading and post-trade systems.
Maintain performance, data integrity, and stability in production.
Apply TDD practices and CI/CD workflows for iterative delivery.
Work independently in production environments.
What you’ll need
Strong Java expertise with Kotlin experience or willingness to learn.
Hands-on experience with event-driven architecture, messaging, and distributed systems.
Proven ability to modernize complex legacy systems and work independently in production.
Strong SQL Server, T-SQL, Kafka, and MongoDB skills; familiarity with Kubernetes/OpenShift and cloud-native technologies.
Experience with TDD, CI/CD, and monitoring tools such as OpenTelemetry, ELK, and Grafana.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field; experience in Prime Brokerage, Equity Swaps, or Cash Equities.
