About the role
SmartRent is hiring a remote Data Scientist to build and deploy production machine learning models using property technology data, IoT telemetry, and resident behavior signals. The role collaborates with data engineering, product, and software engineering teams to deliver decision-support tools.
What you’ll do
Build and deploy production ML solutions
Partner with Data Engineering, Product, Software Engineering, and business stakeholders
Train and evaluate supervised and unsupervised ML models
Work with large, complex, and disparate data sources including event-based and time-series data
Present technical results to non-technical stakeholders
What you’ll need
Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field or equivalent experience
3+ years of hands-on data science or quantitative analytics experience
Strong Python programming skills with production-grade codebases
Experience training and evaluating supervised and unsupervised ML models
Advanced SQL skills with big data platforms like Databricks, Spark, and Delta Lake
Experience with NLP techniques and data formats such as CSV, JSON, XML, Parquet
