Sweent seeks a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to modernize a legacy PHP and Oracle application for higher-education clients, including a public university in Kansas, by building with React, Next.js, and Node.js while maintaining student information system integrations.
What you’ll do
Modernize a legacy PHP and Oracle application into a React, Next.js, and Node.js system
Preserve integrations with the client's student information system
Support higher-education clients, including a public university in Kansas
Deliver senior-level full-stack engineering work
Work with TypeScript, React, Next.js, Node.js, and Oracle SQL/PL/SQL
Communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders
What you’ll need
U.S. work authorization without employer sponsorship, now or in the future
At least 7 years of professional software engineering experience with recent TypeScript/React/Next.js, Node.js, and Oracle SQL/PL/SQL
Strong Node.js backend experience with REST APIs and an ORM (TypeORM preferred)
Production Oracle experience with complex SQL and PL/SQL; ability to read and reverse-engineer legacy PHP
Experience migrating or modernizing legacy applications; Ellucian Banner, higher-education systems, LDAP/Active Directory, and Section 508/WCAG accessibility experience
Testing with Jest and Cypress, plus Docker, Kubernetes and GitLab CI (or similar CI/CD)
