About the role
Groundswell is hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer to work directly with customers and partners on community energy programs, using its Gratava data platform to discover problems, build and validate prototypes, and hand off production-ready code. What you’ll need
Bachelor's degree in CS, engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
Two to four years building with modern AI tools (Claude, OpenAI, equivalent agentic development tools)
Comfortable working in the field with customers, building fast and validating directly
Judgment about scope and ability to defend decisions to non-technical stakeholders
Comfortable in regulated environments: consent, audit logging, role-based access, and data governance; able to work independently in an early-stage environment
Salesforce and Slack experience; energy, housing, healthcare, public benefits, or other rules-based program experience
