About the role
Philo is hiring a Senior Backend Software Engineer to build and optimize its video ingest, transcoding, and delivery platform. The role focuses on scalable streaming systems, reliability, performance, and collaboration across content, advertising, client, and data teams.
What you’ll do

Build and optimize video ingest, transcoding, and delivery platform
Improve reliability and performance of streaming services

Drive complex architectural and development tasks to completion
Mentor and motivate engineering teams
What you’ll need
8+ years of software development experience
Proven record of building highly efficient, highly available software in Golang, Java, C++, or similar
Deep experience with concurrent programming and high-throughput RESTful services
Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, cloud computing, and modern deployment technologies
Familiarity with video transcoding, codecs, streaming protocols, OTT packaging, DRM, and SSAI
Experience with data-driven decisions, stakeholder collaboration, and mentoring teams in Scrum/Agile
