About the role
Debevoise & Plimpton is hiring a Legal AI Systems Engineer to build and support secure AI solutions for legal workflows, taking use cases from research to production. The role involves developing AI-enabled applications, integrating systems, and collaborating with security and practice teams.
What you’ll do
Research, design, develop, integrate, and support secure AI capabilities
Take promising AI use cases from experimentation through production
Lead technical projects from prototyping to deployment and ongoing support
Translate legal and business workflows into technical requirements and solution designs
Integrate applications with APIs, databases, document repositories, and enterprise platforms
Collaborate with Information Security, data privacy, infrastructure, and governance teams
What you’ll need
Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience
Minimum five years in software engineering, data engineering, or related role
Experience building AI-enabled applications with LLMs, generative AI, or machine learning services
Familiarity with RAG, semantic search, embeddings, vector databases, and document-processing pipelines
Strong software development skills in Python or similar languages
Understanding of secure software development and modern deployment practices
