About the role
Free Market Health builds technology connecting payers and specialty pharmacies for specialty medication referrals. This Senior Software Engineer will own a business domain end to end, build and operate services and integrations, and help the team adopt AI agents in software development.
What you’ll do
Own a business domain end to end
Build and operate services and integrations
Help shape the team's use of AI agents in software development
Create tools and documentation other engineers can use
Develop and maintain system integrations and data pipelines
What you’ll need
7+ years professional software engineering with deep backend experience in Python or similar language
Proven track record owning complex production systems and being the expert others rely on
Experience with system integrations, data pipelines, REST APIs, event-driven architecture, and relational databases such as SQL Server
Hands-on experience with agentic coding tools such as Claude Code or Cursor, including agent instructions, skills, or MCP integrations
Clear writing, curiosity about the business, and ability to encode knowledge into reusable tools
Experience with healthcare technology, Azure, Azure Service Bus, Databricks, Datadog, LLM applications, HIPAA, HITRUST, or SOC 2
