About the role
Napster is looking for a Director of Robotics to lead bringing its AI agents onto mobile robotic platforms, owning the program from platform selection and integration through safety, certification, and customer deployments. The role also involves building a small team and working across hardware, software, and partners to ship robots into real environments.
What you’ll do
Lead the robotics program end to end
Own platform selection and integration
Ensure safety and certification compliance
Manage customer deployments
Build and lead the robotics team and outside partners
What you’ll need
Shipped at least one robot from prototype through certification to deployment in a public or customer-facing space
Hands-on production edge-AI compute and robotics software stack experience, plus simulation-based testing (Gazebo, MuJoCo or similar) and ROS 2 fluency
Deep systems integration across mechanical, electrical, embedded, and software, with hands-on hardware
Direct experience with service-robot safety standards, certification, and contract manufacturers
Proven speed from concept to working robot in months and comfort leading a small team and outside partners
Experience with fleet operations, mechanism design, silicon vendor partner/reference-design programs, and product sensibility
