About the role
Renewed Vision is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to shape the technical direction and long-term health of web applications and services for accounts, commerce, licensing, and customer-facing experiences. This remote role emphasizes hands-on AI-assisted engineering, mentoring, and modernizing production systems.
What you’ll do
Shape technical direction of web applications and services
Maintain long-term health of accounts, commerce, licensing, and entitlements systems
Mentor and help other engineers succeed
Improve engineering practices and developer workflows
Build hands-on using AI and critically evaluate its output
Balance speed, maintainability, security, and system health in tradeoffs
What you’ll need
Experience shaping architecture for significant production systems
Strong backend, distributed-systems, and modern web application fundamentals
Hands-on experience using AI extensively in engineering work
Experience with PHP/Laravel, React, TypeScript, MySQL, Redis, AWS, Cloudflare or comparable technologies
Domain experience in commerce, billing, identity, licensing, entitlements, or APIs serving desktop applications
Experience modernizing mature systems or implementing AI-assisted development practices
