Avalara is seeking a Senior Tax Analyst to manage tax-return compliance and customer relationships for accounting firms on the Managed Returns for Accountants team. The role spans onboarding, filing, and notice resolution while improving processes and supporting team capability.
What you’ll do
Own tax-return compliance for a portfolio of accounting firms

What you’ll need
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and 5+ years of sales/use tax compliance or returns preparation experience
Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication skills, able to translate complex tax concepts
Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities to meet filing deadlines
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (Power Pivot, VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP)
Experience with AvaTax portal, Returns Console, and large ERP integrations
