About the role
Orion Innovation seeks a Lead AI Architect to design and build reliable AI agent workflows that support the software development lifecycle. The role leads technical discovery and adoption while evaluating the quality and productivity impact of agentic systems for engineering teams.
What you’ll do
Design and build reliable AI agent workflows for engineering teams
Lead technical discovery and adoption of agentic SDLC systems
Evaluate quality and productivity impact of AI agents
Distinguish tasks suited to agents from deterministic automation
Lead hands-on technical sessions on architectural tradeoffs
Own problems from discovery through delivery and adoption
What you’ll need
5+ years in software engineering, applied AI, developer tooling, platform engineering, or solutions engineering
Strong programming skills in Python, TypeScript, or another widely used language
Hands-on experience building LLM applications with tool calling, structured outputs, context retrieval, and iterative execution
Deep practical experience with AI coding tools and custom agent workflows
Strong software engineering fundamentals including architecture, Git, automated testing, code review, CI/CD, debugging, and production operations
Clear communication and comfort with ambiguity and fast experimentation
