About the role
Joby Aviation is hiring a Senior Product Designer to join its Factory Systems team, designing internal software that supports the building, inspection, maintenance, and servicing of its electric aircraft. The role centers on enterprise and operational tooling for complex, safety-critical workflows, requiring strong interaction design and product thinking.
What you’ll do
Design and deliver internal software for the Factory Systems team that supports building, inspecting, maintaining, and supporting aircraft
Make operational workflows faster, safer, more intuitive, and more traceable
Contribute to product management activities including discovery, requirements writing, prioritization, roadmap planning, stakeholder alignment, and delivery support
Communicate product and design decisions to engineering, operations, business stakeholders, and leadership
Design solutions for complex technical and operational constraints in ambiguous, fast-moving environments
What you’ll need
BA/BS in Design, HCI, Cognitive Science, Computer Science, Product Management, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
5+ years of product design experience with a portfolio demonstrating complex systems, enterprise tools, technical workflows, or operational software
Strong skills in interaction design, systems thinking, information architecture, visual design, prototyping, and product judgment
Experience contributing to product management activities such as discovery, requirements writing, prioritization, roadmap planning, stakeholder alignment, or delivery support
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in ambiguous, fast-moving environments
Experience with enterprise systems (MES, ERP, PLM, QMS, MRP, HRMS) or regulated/safety-critical industry; AI experience a plus
