About the role
Penguin Random House seeks a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to build and operate AWS-based infrastructure and ML platforms for its Data Science team, enabling secure model deployment and reliable production systems.
What you’ll do
Build and maintain foundational AWS systems and ML platforms
Evolve and operate the cloud platform
Enable data scientists to deploy models
Maintain secure and reliable infrastructure
What you’ll need
5+ years building and running production systems
Track record designing infrastructure components or tooling adopted by other engineers/teams
Hands-on cloud experience (AWS preferred) and ability to use AI agents to build and operate systems
Strong communication skills and ability to work closely with data scientists and engineers
Experience running infrastructure for ML/data-intensive workloads in production (model training, batch scoring, model serving)
Experience defining SLOs/SLAs, managing cloud costs, and evaluating ML/LLM systems in production
