About the role
Dropbox seeks a Director to lead a small multidisciplinary data science and data engineering team supporting Finance, combining technical leadership across analytics, data infrastructure, and AI/ML with close partnership with Finance leadership. The role focuses on building trusted data foundations, advancing AI capabilities, and creating scalable operating mechanisms to deliver measurable business impact.
What you’ll do
Manage and grow a multidisciplinary data science and data engineering team
Set the team’s strategy and priorities aligned with Finance and company goals
Provide technical leadership across data science, data engineering, and AI/ML
Advance AI and modeling capabilities for Finance workflows
Build trusted data foundations with quality, lineage, and reliability
Create scalable operating mechanisms and communicate insights to senior stakeholders
What you’ll need
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in a quantitative discipline
Significant experience applying data science, ML, analytics, and data engineering to business problems
Experience directly managing technical professionals, ideally data scientists and data engineers
Strong professional foundation in data science or data engineering with cross-discipline ability
Experience leading projects from problem definition through delivery and operation
Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills for Finance and executive audiences
