About the role
Assurant seeks a Director to lead technical AI strategy, architecture, and delivery for its People Organization, building secure production-grade AI products and establishing engineering and governance standards. This hands-on leadership role partners with People and enterprise teams, guiding an AI product and engineering team while embedding responsible AI practices.
What you’ll do
Lead technical AI strategy, architecture, and delivery for the People Organization
Build and guide secure, production-grade AI products and engineering standards
Establish governance standards and decision rights across business, product, platform, data, and control teams
Lead and develop a hands-on AI product and engineering team
Partner with People and enterprise teams to translate ambiguous business problems into measurable outcomes
What you’ll need
10+ years in technology, software, data, or AI including leadership of production and enterprise-grade solutions
3+ years hands-on experience designing and delivering AI products, agents, workflows, and integrations in production
Technical depth in solution architecture, APIs, data flows, identity, security, monitoring, and evaluations
Experience developing AI strategies, architecture roadmaps, reusable patterns, and engineering frameworks
Experience with Microsoft Copilot, UnifyApps, Leena AI, Claude, or comparable enterprise AI platforms
Experience embedding security, privacy, responsible AI, human oversight, and auditability throughout the product lifecycle
