About the role
Zipline is hiring a Senior Embedded Software Validation Engineer to lead avionics software validation for its autonomous drone delivery system. The role focuses on building test infrastructure, monitoring tools, and safety evidence for reliable software releases.
What you’ll do
Lead validation strategy and execution for avionics software components
Develop test infrastructure and monitoring tools
Generate evidence to support reliable software releases and safety decisions
What you’ll need
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field
5+ years of software development, systems engineering, or validation experience with robotic systems
Strong experience with Embedded Linux, PREEMPT_RT, firmware/RTOS, safety-critical systems, 802.11, or Ethernet
Experience developing validation strategies for autonomous robotics and root-causing failures in complex autonomous systems
Proficiency with Rust or other safety-critical programming languages such as MISRA C or C++
Familiarity with Python and SQL; experience deriving software safety or performance requirements from functional safety requirements
