About the role
Bread Financial is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to build and scale full-stack financial technology applications, working autonomously and mentoring peers. The role spans the full SDLC with cloud-native platforms, DevOps practices, and modern frontend/backend frameworks.
What you’ll do
Translate requirements into software
Lead full-stack development across the SDLC
Improve application quality and scalability
Mentor and collaborate with engineering peers
Work autonomously and provide technical supervision to peers
Develop or maintain at least three applications
What you’ll need
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience
One cloud certification (AWS Cloud Practitioner, Azure Fundamentals, or Google Cloud Digital Leader)
5-8 years of work experience in full-stack, frontend, backend, and UI/UX engineering
Proficient in at least two and ideally three programming languages
Strong full-stack development skills with Java, Spring/Spring Boot, REST and SOAP web services
Experience with Azure/AWS cloud platforms, DevOps/CI-CD, Docker/Kubernetes, and AI-assisted coding tools
