About the role
New York Life seeks a Senior Associate Technical Product Owner to translate business needs for its Institutional Life Illustration & Policy Administration Systems team, supporting Agile and hybrid delivery and ensuring reliable data flows. The role collaborates across business and technology teams to manage requirements, priorities, and release readiness.
What you’ll do
Translate business needs into requirements and user stories
Support Agile and hybrid technology delivery
Ensure reliable data flows for institutional life insurance markets
Manage competing priorities and communicate delivery trade-offs
Collaborate across business and technology teams
Support UAT, production release readiness, and downstream system data requirements
What you’ll need
Practical Product Owner experience with requirements definition, user stories, acceptance criteria, and stakeholder engagement
Experience coordinating technology delivery across Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid methodologies, including third-party vendor dependencies
Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and facilitation skills
Strong organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage competing deadlines
Experience with Jira or similar tools and Microsoft Office applications
Familiarity with policy administration systems such as Adastar or Cyberlife, illustration platforms such as Ascent, and knowledge of life insurance products and institutional markets including BOLI and COLI
