About the role
CLEAR seeks a Platform Engineer to maintain and improve the reliability of its Linux-based kiosk fleet, handling device software, OS images, OTA updates, monitoring, and recovery alongside engineering and field operations.
What you’ll do
Own device software and OS images

3+ years administering embedded Linux systems
Strong proficiency in Python for automation and orchestration
Familiarity with A/B update mechanisms (RAUC, Mender, SWUpdate)
Experience with serial communications (UART, RS-232, USB-serial)
Knowledge of service dependencies, timers, and watchdog configuration
Familiarity with network observability and remote device management at fleet scale
