About the role
Foresight is hiring a Senior Platform Engineer to build and operate the AWS cloud foundation, delivery pipelines, and observability that allow the engineering team to ship safely and frequently. The role emphasizes secure, compliant, reliable infrastructure and pragmatic trade-offs on a small team.
What you’ll do
Build and operate the cloud foundation and delivery pipelines
Implement and manage observability including logs, metrics, traces, SLOs, and alerting
Maintain secure, compliant, reliable infrastructure and tooling
Develop automation and tooling in Python, Go, or similar
Manage containerized services and deployment strategies on AWS
Own uptime and cost for production infrastructure
What you’ll need
5+ years building and running production infrastructure on AWS, owning uptime and cost
Strong infrastructure-as-code skills with Terraform, CDK, or similar reusable modules
Experience running containerized services on AWS such as ECS, EKS, or Lambda
Built and owned CI/CD pipelines with automated testing, deployment strategies, and rollback
Hands-on with observability and cloud security including IAM least privilege, network design, secrets management, and encryption
Comfortable writing code in Python, Go, or similar and hands-on with OpenTelemetry and open observability tools
