About the role
FriedmannAI seeks a Director of AI to lead the strategy, design, and implementation of AI solutions for its financial planning software. The role oversees AI initiatives and teams, with accountability for model accuracy, explainability, and responsible governance in a remote startup environment.
What you’ll do
Lead strategy, design, and implementation of AI solutions for the platform
Oversee AI initiatives and cross-functional teams
Ensure models are accurate, explainable, and responsibly governed
Translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders and executive audiences
What you’ll need
Strong foundation in computer science, algorithms, data structures, and software engineering
Deep expertise in machine learning and pattern recognition with production-grade model deployment
Hands-on data science and analytics experience including preprocessing, feature engineering, and model evaluation
Proficiency with Python, TensorFlow/PyTorch, SQL/NoSQL, and cloud-based ML services
Proven leadership building and guiding cross-functional AI or data teams
Commitment to ethical, responsible AI including governance, bias mitigation, and compliance; familiarity with financial services or fintech
