About the role
Senior full-stack Java developer role supporting the Wisconsin Department of Justice, building and maintaining scalable enterprise applications. The work focuses on Java, Spring Boot, Angular, messaging/caching technologies, and AI-assisted development tooling.
What you’ll do
Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable enterprise applications
Ensure performance, reliability, accessibility, and code quality
Work with messaging queues and caching technologies such as Kafka and Redis
Leverage AI development tools including Prompts, Skills, and Model Context Protocol (MCP)
Collaborate in Agile/Scrum and iterative development environments
Create wireframes and mockups to communicate design concepts
What you’ll need
10+ years of overall development experience
8+ years with Java (8–21), Spring Framework/Spring Boot, REST APIs, and relational databases (Oracle preferred)
5+ years with Angular, messaging queues/caching, JUnit/Playwright, and Agile/Scrum
Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka, Redis, Hibernate/JPA, TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3
Experience with OpenAPI, CI/CD, Docker/Kubernetes, cloud platforms, and AI-assisted development (Prompts/Skills/MCP)
Experience in State Government, DOJ, or similar public-sector environments preferred
