About the role
Atlas is hiring a Director, AI Experience Design Lead for a confidential client to own and evolve an AI-first design system spanning human and agent experiences. The role combines hands-on design delivery, design standards as code, AI product partnership, and leadership of a high-performing experience design team.
What you’ll do
Own and evolve an AI-first design system across human and agent experiences
Deliver end-to-end design work from problem framing to high-fidelity interactive prototypes
Implement design standards as code for scalable, consistent product experiences
Partner with Product and Engineering on AI product scope, tradeoffs, and outcomes
Lead, hire, and develop a high-performing experience design team
Evaluate AI experiences through conversation quality testing and iterative improvement loops
What you’ll need
10–15+ years of progressive Experience Design, UX, or Product Design experience
5+ years of direct people management and design team building experience
Deep expertise in AI-driven experience design, Agentic AI workflows, and Conversational UX
Proven experience owning and scaling design systems and AI-first interaction patterns
Hands-on ability with LLM APIs or agent frameworks and advanced prompt engineering
Expertise in accessibility and inclusive design with WCAG 2.1 AA compliance
