About the role
Affirm's Account Management team builds secure, intuitive account security experiences, seeking a Staff Fullstack Engineer to set technical strategy and lead complex projects. This remote U.S. role spans the full account security journey, from fraud prevention to self-service recovery.
What you’ll do
Set technical strategy for the team on a year-long time scale
Collaborate with product, design, and analytics across the product development lifecycle
Define and advocate technical solutions and operational processes to act as a force-multiplier
Own team operations and availability including monitoring, triage, playbooks, testing, alerting, and on-call
Foster a culture of quality and ownership through code review and design standards
Help develop talent on the team through feedback and guidance
What you’ll need
8+ years of software engineering experience
Proficient in designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale with Python, Kotlin, AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes
Proficient in developing web apps with declarative UI frameworks like React or Vue
Experience delivering major features or system components through technical and execution plans
Thrives in ambiguity and comfortable moving from low-level language idioms to large system architecture
Strong verbal and written communication for effective collaboration with a global engineering team
