About the role
Green Dot is hiring a Principal Software Engineer to lead the cloud-native rearchitecture of its Banking as a Service platform, focusing on APIs, microservices, and partner integrations for banking and payments solutions.
What you’ll do
Lead API and microservices development for the Banking as a Service platform
Drive platform strategy and engineering practices
Ensure system reliability and performance
Manage partner integrations for banking and payments solutions
Rearchitect the platform using cloud-native techniques
Implement security and compliance standards
What you’ll need
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in CS, accounting, AIS, or a related field plus 6 years of related experience
Strong portfolio of secure, standards-compliant code across the Microsoft stack and open-source technologies
Experience designing and hosting cloud-native applications in Azure or AWS, including Azure APIM, SQL, Cosmos DB, and Key Vault
Expertise in REST APIs, OAuth2, OpenAPI, SOAP, and XML/JSON
Experience with microservices, event-driven patterns, CI/CD pipelines, and observability dashboards
Ability to work in the U.S. without sponsorship; fintech or embedded finance experience preferred
