About the role
Google is hiring a Silicon Architect to lead end-to-end product architecture for next-generation AI/ML accelerators, including TPUs, bridging machine learning workloads, software systems, and silicon implementation from architecture definition to production deployment. The role requires deep HPC and silicon architecture experience and focuses on driving cross-functional alignment and multi-year product roadmaps.
What you’ll do
Lead end-to-end product architecture for next-generation AI/ML accelerators, including TPUs
Bridge machine learning workloads, software systems, and silicon implementation from architectural definition through production deployment
Drive cross-functional technical alignment across RTL design, physical implementation, verification, thermal/power engineering, and post-silicon validation teams
Translate emerging academic and industry AI trends into multi-year silicon product roadmaps
Mentor architects and exercise technical influence
What you’ll need
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience; Master's degree or PhD in these fields
15 years of experience in computer architecture
Experience with high-performance computing (HPC), server processors, GPUs, or machine learning (ML) accelerators
Experience with semiconductor technologies and system-level trade-offs across process nodes, memory subsystems (e.g., HBM/DRAM), interconnects, packaging, and PPA
Experience as lead product or chip architect across multiple generations of complex data-center AI/ML accelerators, GPUs, or HPC silicon
Experience driving cross-functional technical alignment across RTL design, physical implementation, verification, thermal/power engineering, and post-silicon validation teams; strong track record of technical influence, mentoring architects, and translating AI trends into multi-year silicon product roadmaps
