About the role
Senior Software Engineer on the Orchestration team responsible for designing and delivering features across the dbt platform control plane, including scheduling, execution, and results processing, while improving performance, reliability, and scalability.
What you’ll do
Design and deliver features across the dbt platform control plane
Implement scheduling, execution, and results processing functionality
Improve performance, reliability, and scalability of orchestration services
Lead feature-level software and design work and explain trade-offs
Identify design flaws in existing systems and propose improvements
Conduct code reviews, design, troubleshooting, and testing
What you’ll need
5+ years of software industry experience
Experience with distributed systems, cloud computing, and backend services
Proficiency in a modern backend or systems language such as Python, Java, C++, or C#
Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
Experience with GraphQL APIs and high-throughput, multi-tenant data services
Familiarity with data processing (ETL/ELT), dbt ecosystem, and observability tools
